My love for the tech and design started when my mom signed a 9-year-old me up for the school computer club. I got hooked immediately and I decided to become a software developer. So I did – but that only lasted until I discovered UX. It just made so much sense that tech needs to be build for people, not against them!
That curiosity brought me to the Netherlands in 2012 to study UX — in Russia where I grew up there was no UX degrees at that time. Since then I’ve worked in big corps and scale ups, always looking for ways to make complex systems easier to work with.
My best work happens in collaboration with PMs and engineers. I like being part of the early, messy stages of defining a product just as much as taking care of the small details. Along the way I’ve mentored designers and built systems that help teams move faster without losing quality. I love design generally, and specifically typography — m-dashes, hanging puntuation and proper quotes have a special place in my heart.
Outside of design, I keep myself busy (sometimes too busy). I’ve traveled to 30+ countries, written my personal constitution, and I’m always learning new pole tricks or languages. I enjoy public speaking, love cats (especially mine), and can never say no to sushi.
